About Ryan

Ryan Opdahl moved to Hillsboro, ND in 2014 when he joined Richard Gehrke’s Farmers Union Insurance office. Ryan graduated from Larimore High School in 2005 where he participated in football, basketball, and golf. He then played collegiate basketball and golf at the University of Jamestown for two years, then transferred to the University of North Dakota to play Division 1 golf and complete his Business Management degree.

Ryan spent four years managing the Jamestown Country Club pro shop and clubhouse operations. From 2009 to 2012, he worked for Thrivent Financial providing financial services and retirement planning in the Jamestown community.

In 2012, Ryan and his wife, Brenna, moved to Hillsboro to join Farmers Union Insurance. Brenna grew up in Hillsboro and works as a Nurse Case Manager for Workforce Safety and Insurance of North Dakota. They have two children, Addison and Connor, who joined their family in 2017 and 2024 through adoption.

Ryan enjoys playing golf, traveling, and spending time with family.
